BRIEF:

The task was to design a new freestanding display element for the foyer of the Rudolfinum Gallery for the Abakus Foundation, replacing the existing object.

CONCEPT:

After studying the philosophy and graphic language of the new visual concept of the Abakus Foundation, the display element was conceived as a golden circular mirror reflecting the grand interior spaces of the Rudolfinum while simultaneously symbolising the final dot of an abacus counter. The mirror is mounted on a lightweight blue-painted metal structure, whose materiality of raw reinforcing steel bars contrasts with the precision and refinement of the golden mirrored surface.
