BRIEF:

The interior design of a ground-floor apartment with a 2+kk layout and a floor area of 46.8 m², located in a new residential development on Boží hora in Brno, focuses on the solution of the shared living space and the bedroom. The apartment is complemented by a front garden and a terrace, which form a natural extension of the living area. The aim of the design was to create a functional and calm interior with sufficient storage capacity, responding to the compact dimensions of the apartment.

CONCEPT:

The design builds on the material and colour scheme predefined by the developer, consciously continuing it to ensure the interior feels coherent and harmonious. The base consists of a combination of oak wood, white surfaces, and soft grey tones, complemented by black accents in details and metal elements.

 

The main living space is conceived as an open-plan area combining the kitchen, dining zone, and relaxation area. The kitchen is designed in white matte laminate and set into a niche to visually brighten the space and avoid a dominant appearance. Individual functions within the room are clearly legible thanks to subtle zoning – from the kitchen area, through the dining corner with an extendable table, to the relaxation zone with a convertible sofa and a built-in bookcase with TV. Furniture elements in oak veneer are complemented by subtle black metal details.

 

The bedroom is designed as a calm and compact space with built-in wardrobes that partially extend above the entrance to the room, providing maximum use of storage space. The material solution seamlessly follows the living area and supports the unified character of the interior. A subtle wallpaper with a delicate vertical pattern adds texture to the space and responds to details used in the main living area.

 

The overall design works with simple means and places emphasis on functionality, timelessness, and the interconnection of individual parts of the apartment.
